ATEC
ATEC M3X 2.0
Three-wheel crossover machine — fastballs to 90 mph, breaking balls from either side, and ground balls and fly balls for defense — that converts to fastpitch softball in minutes.
The M3X 2.0 is the machine that does a bit of everything. Three wheels grip more of the ball than two, which buys speed, accuracy and spin: fastballs up to 90 mph, and curveballs, sliders, splitters and knuckleballs breaking either way. Swing it around and the same machine feeds ground balls and fly balls to the defense.
Built for the whole practice
- Offense and defense. The M3's pitching capability combined with the features of ATEC's defensive machines, on a 360° swivel.
- Fast adjustments. A micro-adjustment knob moves pitch location, grounders and fly balls in real time, and the Elevation Pro handle raises fly balls without tilting the machine.
- Quick pitch changes. A speed dial switches pitch type and spin with no more than eight seconds between pitches.
- Hitter's-eye view. A redesigned ball chute keeps the ball visible to the hitter the whole way out.
- Stable. A steel frame on a wide-base tripod absorbs recoil, so pitch after pitch lands where it was aimed.
Baseball and softball
Moving the motors to their outside settings converts the machine to fastpitch softball in minutes. It throws regulation leather balls, dimpled machine balls or foam.
How we use it
Trajekt and iPitch are for pitch-specific work. The M3X covers the rest of the building: live-speed rounds in an open cage, breaking-ball recognition, and fungo-free defensive work on the turf. TrackMan records what comes off the bat.
Also in the building
Markerless 3D motion capture and force plates. 150+ data points a session, benchmarked against 3,000+ athletes — so we see how the athlete actually moves, not how it looks at full speed.
Recreates a real pitcher — speed, 3D spin, seam orientation and release slot, synced to video of the delivery — so at-bats are prepared for, not guessed at.
Optically enhanced radar that tracks the full flight of every pitch and batted ball — release, movement, 3D spin, exit speed and launch — so practice is measured, not eyeballed.
Smart pitching machine with controlled speed and spin — 140 pitches, random or programmed sequences, run from a tablet — for high-volume, precisely repeatable work.
High-speed camera recording up to 2,240 frames a second at 720p with a global shutter — grip, release and contact, frozen sharply enough to see the seams.
