TrackMan
TrackMan B1
Optically enhanced radar that tracks the full flight of every pitch and batted ball — release, movement, 3D spin, exit speed and launch — so practice is measured, not eyeballed.
TrackMan measures what the ball actually did. The B1 uses Optically Enhanced Radar Tracking — two radars paired with a camera — to follow the entire trajectory of the ball, from the pitcher's hand to the plate and off the bat. It sets up on a tripod in minutes, indoors or out, and logs every pitch and every swing without anyone writing a number down.
What it tracks
The same parameters TrackMan reports in professional ballparks, on every rep in the cage.
Pitching
- Release — speed, spin rate, spin axis, release height and side, extension, vertical and horizontal release angle
- Flight — vertical and horizontal movement
- Strike zone — plate height and side, vertical and horizontal approach angle
Hitting
- Launch — exit speed, spin rate, 3D contact point, launch angle, launch direction
- Flight — distance
3D spin on every pitch
Spin rate alone does not explain a pitch. The B1 also measures spin efficiency, active spin, gyro angle and measured tilt, so a pitcher can see how much of the spin is actually moving the ball — and design a shape instead of guessing at one.
Data and video, together
- One app. The TrackMan Performance app runs pitching and batting sessions from a single dashboard, with 3D pitch views.
- Video on every rep. Cameras trigger automatically at release or contact, and the clip plays side by side with that pitch's or swing's numbers.
- Full reports. Sessions sync to the cloud portal, with interactive pitching and hitting reports that can be pulled up on any device.
The hardware
How we use it
Ball flight is the scoreboard for the mechanical work. When a change in sequencing shows up in the Maven capture, this is where we confirm it produced something: a firmer ball, a better shape, a repeatable release.
It runs alongside the machines too — whatever Trajekt or iPitch throws, TrackMan records what the hitter did with it. Readings flow into the athlete's dashboard, so trends are visible session over session instead of living on a coach's clipboard.
Also in the building
Markerless 3D motion capture and force plates. 150+ data points a session, benchmarked against 3,000+ athletes — so we see how the athlete actually moves, not how it looks at full speed.
Recreates a real pitcher — speed, 3D spin, seam orientation and release slot, synced to video of the delivery — so at-bats are prepared for, not guessed at.
Smart pitching machine with controlled speed and spin — 140 pitches, random or programmed sequences, run from a tablet — for high-volume, precisely repeatable work.
Three-wheel crossover machine — fastballs to 90 mph, breaking balls from either side, and ground balls and fly balls for defense — that converts to fastpitch softball in minutes.
High-speed camera recording up to 2,240 frames a second at 720p with a global shutter — grip, release and contact, frozen sharply enough to see the seams.
